The People Vardells believes that its people are the companies greatest assets. In Mike Starzec, who is both Managing Director and System Development Director, leading the programming team, Vardells have one of the most experienced exponents of programming Retail Systems in the EPoS business, with that most valuable of assets, a solid understanding of what Retailers require. Whilst in Sharon Mosley and Rose Borra, Software Support and Hardware Support Supervisors respectively Vardells have two people who, between them, have some 15 years of service in looking after the needs of system users on a day to day basis. Sharon is supported by a team of 5 Software Support Staff and Rose by 10 Hardware Support Engineers. Vardells operate a policy of promoting from within, wherein, for example a Hardware Engineer can move to Software Support or a Receptionist to being a Stock Controller. This both allows the staff member to develop their personal skills and ensures continuity of knowledge of the Customer Base. Vardells also believes in allowing the individual to develop his/her own skills to enhance knowledge and, ability, within their own particular field.Amongst the Programming and Support Staff, for example, Vardells have encouraged achievement of Microsoft Certified Professional Qualifications, (MCP). This is an ongoing situation with staff striving for higher and latest qualifications These qualifications have allowed Vardells to apply for Microsoft Partner status, awaiting product certification. These qualifications also help in the long term development of VMR, working closely with Microsoft and optimising the features if their technology will enable us to ensure a long product lifespan with advanced notice of up and coming server and development products.
